I hate this about new laptops…
I miss the old switch on the bottom.

Yeeessssss…
Cover the paper label with packing tape (cheap mans laminate).
Use quick set epoxy for a better bond.
Nice addition of solution.
In time Lemmy will replace reddit for tech questions. Give it a few years!
Yeah I started doing git with bug testing.
Most devs are happy to have someone file a competent bug report with: issue, environment specs, steps to replicate and screenshots/recordings.
I’ve gone back and forth with devs testing things like game mods and android FOSS apps.
I specialize in Azure admin.
Sounds like this might be by design to ensure secure connections.
Using AVD as a bastion replacement.
Only option with similar security would be VPN into the vnet and just ssh normally.
Is that like EWG SkinDeep?
For now I tried Google play games beta. It’s a type 1 vm instance instead of bluestacks being type 2.
Super easy to setup. At least Google is the one spying on me instead of china.
I’m trying to run blissos now in hyperv with no luck.
Did you make any progress?
I’m trying to find a bluestacks alternative
Since the huge push to SaaS I’ve seen plenty of companies that essentially run thin clients.
The local workstations are just thier access to login to X website that host thier apps and data.
Zero reason for them to switch to win11 or buy new hardware due to “incompatibility”.
These end users can be trained to use mint or Ubuntu and be just as productive at work.
You can self host either platform so you have full control.
At that point anything you run is on you for security.
Connect wise and ninjaone come to mind.
Free and open source? If it’s enterprise pay for a suite.
There are plenty of RMM tools/companies that support Linux platforms.
Fuck luxury cars for this exact reason
Thanks.
For the HTPC I was thinking of something like plasma-bigscreen so it’s a media center.
Kodi, steam big screen, gog(?), etc
I’ll make one for myself to see if I can streamline it.
It’s for me for starters.
Distro would be mint vs MX.
Cinnamon vs xfce is DE/Gui right? That’s the front end?
Eventually I plan to make HTPCs basically like a console replacement similar to/like steamOS
I’ve got some family that’s stuck on consoles and I want a gateway into PC gaming for them.
Wired is king.
If I gotta do wireless I get one with a RF dongle/base.
Astro A50 Wireless. Needs a dongle but it’s waaaay more stable than any bluetooth headset. Both on range and audio quality.
