Where are you getting the opinion that our breeding is incessant? From what I remember studying,

1. the entire population of earth could fit in Texas if we turned it into a state sized apartment complex
2. we already produce FAR more food than we need
3. most models show that once a country advances far enough its population stops growing, and there are models that demonstrate what the earths maximum population will likely be

Also US, we’re definitely not exhibiting an “anti smoking” culture. I think you’re confusing what you’re exposed to to what is really going on in the world. It’s important to recognize the limitations of your perspective, and not confuse them for a national trend
