Tiny10 on a VM
I’m sluggishly in the middle of the same thing.
Good morning! (7 hours later)
I’ve been curious about this myself.
Flicking your cheek just right to make the water drop noise
Ol pap was like this also, mainly with electrical or automotive issues. He always said instead of him possibly doing a bad job and wasting his whole Saturday, he’d rather just pay a pro to do it right and in a timely manner, and go do some work on the weekend.
We’ve so much in common! I had a skin working that made Kodi look just like an emby app or webpage
There is an emby addon that uses your server to keep track of profiles and stuff. It’s actually pretty sweet to get it set up.
LibreELEC all day if you’re just watching/listening (minus a little emulation support (OH and moonlight docker addon))
Just enough os for Kodi with a little more sizzle
ChimeraOS? digging in now
I have been on this hunt myself and am coming up short. Especially on the hardware at my disposal.
So far I’ve tried all the same stuff you’ve mentioned but am settling in to LibreELEC well enough with addons, including the emby next gen setup (got into emby before finding out about jellyfin)
what don’t you dig about LibreELEC?
Plasma bigscreen sounds like it would be the best, but I never got it to work right ( granted I was very new to Linux back then)
Have you tried blissOS?
Yo just turn off that TVs version of HDMI control. (CEC, magic remote, etc) To avoid the scanning bullsh. (Sounds like Samsung)
Outside of that I kinda miss old copper phone lines to a certain extent. Analog stuff in general
Everything being digital removes any possibility of a signal being able to still be discerned even if it’s not absolutely perfect.
Old tech would be subject to static of course, but you could possibly still make out the TV channel or radio station, even if it’s not perfect.
These days, you hear or see a little tiling for a second and the media is gone until a good enough signal comes back.
I need to send this to myself in the AM as a reminder
I’ve put it on 2 machines in the past month. One works flawlessly, the other is a little temperamental and glitchy
I feel you big time!
The taste, the smell, the hassle,
It’s a huge deal!
I wouldn’t consider that trivial though
I’d be you sometimes if I wasn’t so busy being me. Sometimes it might be cool to be you and not me. Even something as benign as the way your mouth feels when closed,
do your teeth line up better than mine? Or have you developed a weird way for your jaw to rest due to clipping teeth if you’re not careful.
Anyways I think it’s my turn to report in on the huddle so bye
Oooweee okay so no Wayland and I’ll be in business! Trying shortly
This is the crux of my whole life. If I am not interested in something, my entire existence will basically refuse to soak up that knowledge or even try to empathize. It can sometimes suck. I have to walk away if people start engaging in conversations about sports.
It got easier to start digging into CLI after realizing that would be an easy way to get the home media server up and running. And managing local game servers.
It’s a little harder to focus on vlans and firewall rules, outside of the repercussions of not setting that up correctly.
