It’s good to hear that there are companies that are accepting this. Interviewing is a little different, yeah, that’s probably understandable when done remotely

I expect that all smart TVs have a web browser, so the first two should always work. Be aware though that while piped is more usable (imho), it currently does not work anywhere, because it did not yet implement a fix for google’s blocking that invidious did a week or so ago.
If FireTVs are android TVs, you should be able to install the android apps too, in a way or another.
The first two have web pages and phone apps. You can find the phone apps on F-droid.
Fun fact: did you know that the youtube app on your TV is just a no-effort web browser with a URL fixed to a web page, which you could even use on your PC?
Which does not solve the webcam’s mic, which (to me) is a bigger issue because it does not only record who’s in the from of the machine, but also the whole surrounding area.
Ok, I hear you. But here’s the secret: I don’t want to use a webcam at all. If you want to see me, agree to a physical meetup. Obviously that’s not the only reason.
Are you from Hungary?
Yeah, except you can check what it does, how it works, and make changes to it.
I don’t think that’s feasible for anyone. Pretty soon your and every other user would be flooded with unwanted content, which will take time off all users individually to filter out. What this will result in is filterlists being made by community members, which the clients will use, some by default so that the system remains usable even for new users.
I don’t see how that would make a meaningful difference.
I mean sure, technically now it’s you who’s filtering, but is it really you if 1. the filterlists are maintained by a 3rd party and 2. you don’t have the capacity to audit all changes to the filterlists?
Check out ViolentMonkey, it’s an open source userscript manager
If I may ask, was there any physical attraction between you two when you met?
To be honest, there is no other person here. Not yet, at least. My case is a little different, because it’s not about how I look, not even the personality (but who knows actually? I know I have problems e.g. finding the right tone, and sometimes seeming harsh), but some other properties that are day to day pretty noticeable, and are often associated with being handicapped (not in the meeting of being silly) (even by myself when I notice it on others). I know that this is universally a thing (or rather things) that is hard to accept, and I seriously wouldn’t want to live with someone like that either.
The point I wanted to make is that it’s ok if no one wants to be with me.
I have not yet started searching for an “economical partnership”.
I’m not denying that ace spectrum people have relationships and settle down as well. But OP is asking about the normative (read allosexual) experience and explicitly mentions physical attraction.
I don’t think this only applies to ace people. Sometimes you just realize you can’t have everything, settle with someone “below your standards” in respect to that, and even if you sleep in the same bed, you don’t do anything with each other in that way.
Thing is, sex is not a privilege. If you - as someone in such a situation as OP - can’t accept that, you are in danger of growing… hateful views. I don’t want to become such a person, and it’s clear that it’s not their fault that they are not attracted to me. Realizing this helped me accept it.
To be totally clear, yes, I’m not ace, I have the desire, but that’s just not how it works.
There are still other benefits of having a partner, like not being lonely and sharing the costs of living.
To also respond to OP, I don’t know if this is “the solution”. This is better for everyone involved than the alternative where you grow to be a hateful person. But maybe you should reevaluate if you are really in such a situation as you think. Possibly you are right, possibly not.
Oh I see, about those, I can agree that they are relatively loud. I was thinking about the “rolling metal posts” at first.
Sorry for being rude
Also ban talking on the street, public transport, and trees. All of these can be very noisy, and I can’t stand it! Oh and bikes too, their bells are very infuriating, especially when it’s bad and rings all the time… and better not let your kids play in the front of the yard!
Seriously, I have seen loud motors, but haven’t any loud scooters. Which one do you think is loud?
In my experience cars and newborns are louder, not by a little margin, just to give a few examples.
For the same reason spyware and adware is not anymore malware categories scanned for by antivirus software: our fucked up economy, and because average people accept everything no questions asked.
The anti cheat software’s code is in a separate file from the game files, which malware can ship themselves.
Maybe it could become a nickname for I2P
but if they were trying to conceal it from you then that might be a bad sign.
Not at all surprising move from a FAANG company. Fucking people over is in their blood.
Doesn’t help with the bloated web and local webapps, though. Also, you’ll need to choose from a set of desktop environments that were made with lower resource usage in mind. Also don’t forget that while linux is often faster, a slow drive is still a slow drive and it can help only so much if you keep your OS and heavyweight software on a HDD.
This is not the first post where I feel it but I love it so much that we have a lot of people on Lemmy that can talk about things not related to computers!
why?
I only do this with the fridge in the summer to not let the chocolate melt. but why the freezer?
