A firearm is very much a tool in some non-combat applications. Ranching, for instance.

lol nice, another fellow user of the term “meatspace”. I find the term quite self explanatory, but I often have to explain it to people when I allow it into my vernacular.
Tbh those things are great little thin clients to leave near your couch, despite their age
In MA, when I worked the polls in 2020, they had a cop on duty in the polling location the whole day to deal with any yahoos like that. To be clear, that’s ALL they’re there for - they’re otherwise completely uninvolved with the administering of the election, and the operation of the polling location. Iirc the guy was just reading a book most of the time. I admit I’m somewhat surprised more jurisdictions don’t have some sort of policy like that. At the same time, I’m sure it would be abused by police forces in some parts of the country.
I just want to pick one and stick with it. Like, holy fuck, the switching is awful.
Yes, that’s another distinct possibility.
But as I see it, Trump et al will think it’s a super bigly power move if they can just destroy the Democratic Party outright, so they’ll probably try to do that anyways
I’m still getting the feeling that Harris will win.
But if she doesn’t, I don’t think they’ll exist as a viable political party by 2028, and not because people will lose faith in them. I think Trump will weaponize as many aspects of the government as he possibly can against anyone and any group he sees as a threat or challenge to himself, and one of those groups is the Democratic Party. And I also think he’ll direct the more militant groups of his followers (3%ers, proud boys, etc) much more explicitly in the conduct of violence against his opponents - up to and including having direct contact with their leadership.
I’m not being hyperbolic. This is a playbook we’ve seen before. Harris losing would be roughly equivalent in many ways to the NSDAP (that would be the Nazis) rise to power in the early 1930s.
There was a two-generation long lithography issue that they had not been able to solve. You are grossly understating the technical scope of the problem, as well as the trust issues Intel themselves created with the way they handled the whole debacle.
I’m not ever going to buy a 13/14 gen Intel core unless it’s at absolute bargain basement prices. In a professional IT context, nobody in purchasing departments should be buying the impacted SKUs in the affected date range (and practically, that means “they won’t buy those SKUs, full stop”).
The ML sabotage movement is picking up speed and I am absolutely here for it 💯

Oh man you’re giving me flashbacks to high school. Haven’t listened to AAF in ages
Huh. That’s actually pretty cool. Not my favorite distro these days for several reasons, but that aside, it’s great to see more robust support on ARM laptops.
Eh. Do they still have Ubuntu Pro ads in the update UI? If so: stop, then I’ll care.
You know that “French Bulldog” is a breed of dog, and that dog breed has absolutely zero impact on where the dog owner lives, right?
E: yeah, yeah, I know
Have you looked into health regulations and quarantine considerations? I think that may be a factor with pets, regardless of whether or both they’re technically certified as a service dog in the US. At any rate, I would categorically NOT assume that it’ll be smooth sailing when it comes to customs and immigration. That, in fact, might be part of what that expensive transport service is offering.
TL;DR: definitely look into the health/immigration/vaccination/quarantine considerations, because you might be in for an unpleasant surprise if you haven’t specifically prepared for it, as the EU is rather more bureaucratic about these things.
I anticipate the used value for those gens is going to drop quicker than a Mercedes CL65AMG
