Which keyboard shortcuts do you mean specifically? I think I fixed this exact issue earlier today!

If find myself writing anything I’d call a “program” (rather than just a script) in bash then it’s time to think about using a proper language rather than a shell script, let alone awk or sed!
Given how used I am to every statement by a politician or business being this slick, polished, carefully re-drafted beige speech it’s a real contrast to see someone like Torvalds just blasting out their thoughts
It’s ideal for someone who really doesn’t understand computers (so can’t be relied on to install updates etc) if you don’t want to have to be tech support as much as for a “proper” OS
I posted this xkcd a couple of weeks ago, it’s always relevant!
Nice, I’ll have an investigate, thanks
Ooh that’s interesting to know! Though I do make use of Cryptomator on my phone too, is rclone on Android in a useable state?
The important stuff is in cloud storage using Cryptomator (I’m hoping that rclone should make sync simple), I should probably set up time shift in case things do go wrong
Apologies for the very late reply and thanks for all the suggestions! Have you tried Solaar with your mouse? I have a different Logitech one, can’t remember the name but it works perfectly for gestures.
I used Winlator at the start of the year just to test out some little itch.io games and it was pretty basic, huge to hear how far it’s come already!
Ooh interesting, I’ve been considering what to do when my Pebble eventually packs in, do you think this is a worthy replacement?
Maybe that bug report was the motivation for the collaboration! Or maybe the level 1 support aren’t aware of unannounced business decisions.
The point of making of open to everyone was so they’d have other traffic to hide their own secret communications amongst, right?
That thumbnail is a good one for !veryrealtechpics@lemmy.world
It’s not a repost if it’s in a different community
Just pick up a cheap, secondhand mainframe
Oh wow, I guess both of the HP-UX users will be gutted to read this!
How many IA-64 machines are still running at all? I never knew they even made that many in the first place!
1611Mbps, do you live inside AWS‽
Yeah that’s the exact issue I fixed yesterday: the Super (Windows) key is configured to open the whisper (start) menu and this overrides any of the other xfce keyboard shortcuts like moving windows around.
The fix was to go into Settings > Keyboard > Application Shortcuts and change the one that’s set by default to open the whisper menu (
xfce4-popup-whiskermenu
) to something else. I found some bug reports saying that the problem is that xfce doesn’t expect shortcuts that are “modifier only” (as in only the Super key), and once I changed that one then the shortcuts to move windows around suddenly started working. No idea why distros ship with this configuration already broken, but hopefully this helps!
