Anecdotal, but I’ve never once had a problem with any function of Firefox in the decade I’ve been using it. On the contrary it’s been the most stable browser I’ve had the pleasure of using, orders of magnitude more reliable in all situations than Chrome or Opera ever was.
This post smells of astroturfing. There’s been an awful lot of “why is Firefox so shit?” posts recently, now that Google is proving itself untrustable.
It was me. I was the smartest kid in my class for most of school. Then I dropped out of college and now I fix cars for a living.
Not saying that’s a bad thing, the world needs mechanics and I’m paid well enough to live, but the sense of lost or wasted potential is overwhelming.
Some of those I understand complaining about but honestly Sets & Logic is a great class for a programmer. I wish that was in the standard math path so that everyone got a little of it in high school, the closest I got was doing proofs in geometry which while that is a sort of logic training it doesn’t really teach you how to make use of anything.
Also, depending what you’re building exactly, advanced Calc and Numerical Analysis may be very useful and/or required to perform. Especially if you’re trying to accurately model something that happens in meatspace.

Frankly, these days? Yeah you totally can. “Hey Siri, what’s 3% of 235,889?” or “Hey Siri, what’s 8/37ths converted to 300ths?” will most likely just feed you a correct answer.
Unfortunately that’s a minority of cases. Most bullies in my experience, and especially those bullies that are themselves using physical violence, only respond to violence.
Don’t meet violence with violence as your first option. But keep it on the table. It’s a viable solution if nothing else works. Some people just don’t respond to anything short of getting punched in the mouth, especially kids/teens with their brain chemistry fucked six ways to Sunday by puberty.

Depends on the project. Dwarf Fortress for instance survived about a dozen years completely on donations. But that’s a video game, not a tool (and one that people feel quite strongly about as well).
I turned it to Japanese voices so I didn’t have to hear the god awful English voice acting and it’s improved my experience a lot
I hope they add a localization patch so I can change it to something fun like Spanish or German

People who have been paying attention have already moved. Anyone who’s left will need a missile dropped directly on top of their head by Elon Musk or Steve Huffman personally. They will leave when the websites can no longer support themselves and shut down their servers, forcing the users out.
You don’t want to wear the current iteration of headsets for work. Projects are in motion to make much smaller and more lightweight ones. They’re stupid expensive right now but that’ll change with time.

That sounds like a great way to accidentally muzzle sweep a thousand international satellites with a billion-kWh laser beam. Not saying it’s entirely a bad idea, but having invisible unshielded beams of stupendous energy bouncing all over the solar system sounds like a recipe for a couple accidental meltings. I could just see someone making an adjustment to the next mining target without informing China and whoops, that secret manned satellite you sent up a couple months ago is now slag.
And they choose this path because LGBT folks have been getting bullied, assaulted and murdered for just existing for about as long as civilization has existed. If they don’t stand up for themselves nobody else is going to do it for them.
The key word is “trying” - most of them are trying to live their lives largely without bothering anyone - except that “anyone” is composed of a lot of people that can’t put up with their existence. Not through any fault of the person, just because of the way they are.
I do get what you’re saying. But it’s a half step away from deriding them for their very existence, which is disgusting. They are attempting to break the status quo in the same way the civil rights movement did.
I don’t think the Waagh field is quite that strong in canon lore, but holy shit that makes way more sense than it should. I never even considered this as a possibility.
They will trigger a laser alarm though. Depends what type of fire alarm you have. I have a laser alarm in my house and if I open the bathroom door too quick after a shower the steam can even trigger it.
